Mike Huckabee scheduled a press conference in order to announce the airing of an ad they created against Mitt Romney, sort of as a response to the relentless attacks Romney has been doing on Huckabee. At the last minute Huckabee decided to take the ad off, and not run it on TV. As a result, Huckabee had to let the media know of his last-minute decision to pull the ad, and the scheduled press conference would not be what it originally was intended to be.
Now, the media are taking this story as Huckabee trying to pull a fast one on them. By showing the ad to the media, they are saying him not airing the ad is irrelevant since he just showed it to them. Thus, they claim Huckabee is being deceptive in his claim of "remaining positive by not showing the ad." Pundits and critics are calling this move by Huckabee a "meltdown" of sorts, etc.
But think about this. Huckabee told the media "You're not going to get a copy of it, so this is your chance to see it, then after that, you'll never see it again." If the media aren't getting a copy of it, then how is the ad going to be seen to the public on a large scale like the media says was the desired result? There is no clear or audible cut of the video for viewing. It was Huckabee's decision alone, not his campaign team. This ad is not freely aired, cause no one has a copy of it. Grainy footage with no audio is free press?
All the media would be able to do is talk about it in news articles. Huckabee said the reason he showed it to the press room, is because if he hadn't shown it, then they would have thought his claim of pulling the negative ad was itself a deception in order to look positive. But Huck wanted to prove there was an ad. And he showed it. Now it won't be shown again.
So who's the real dolt here, Huckabee or the media, as usual? I am going with the media. They are constantly looking for juicy stories, and this fit the bill. I think the media is twisting this thing.
I believe Huckabee is actually being genuine, as usual.
You decide. But look at the facts really hard before making your mind up. The media or Huckabee? I choose Huck.

12/30 - Mike Huckabee on Meet the Press Video
Mike Huckabee was on Meet the Press with Tim Russert for the second time today. The first time Huckabee was on, it was in January and he was announcing his plans to run for President. Huckabee did extremely well back in Jan., and he did just as well today.
Tim Russert is known for his tough interviews. The good news for Huckabee is he is just as tough with his answers. Watch the video below in three parts. It is WELL worth watching.

Cable News Rankings on Huckabee Coverage
I consistently watch the three cable news channels, watching for Mike Huckabee coverage to see how they will spin things. I watch all three about equally I would say, and based on my opinion of their coverage, the most fair and balanced coverage of Huckabee has been from CNN.
I would rank them in this order, from the most fair, to the least fair:
1. CNN
2. MSNBC
3. FOX News
Possibly FOX has been the least fair because they have an agenda that lines up with the Republican establishment, whereas CNN seems to be sort of neutral to it all right now. That will more than likely change in the general election though.
CNN usually has a liberal bias to it overall, and it still does. But when they cover Huck, it's usally at least balanced. Thank you CNN, for being fair where others aren't.

Drudge/Romney Report Mislead Again

I don't know why the media at large continue to take this guy's bait and willingly bite. Drudge is Mitt Romney's cohort. We have already established he has close connections with Romney's strategist Matt Rhoades.
Look at the latest false Drudge headline. It says "Huckabee's National Chairman Guarantees IA Victory..."
But if you read the whole interview, as I did, you will see that Ed Rollins never guarenteed victory. But guess what happens now? The media all read this on master Drudge's website and run to Huckabee saying, "Why did you guarantee victory?" Read the article guys! Not just the false Drudge headline. The guy is a tabloid artist.
Here is what Rollins said about Huck and Iowa:
I think Iowa's very important to him. And I think the bottom line is that we think we're going to win Iowa. I don't think we started out expecting to win anything, but I think this is what's created a great buzz.Where is his "guarantee of victory" in that statement?
I think Drudge is trying to create a sense of arrogance in the Huck campaign. That they think they are the for sure winners. That's just false. They think they will win, just like any campaign should. But Drudge's false headlines make you think something very different.

Mike Huckabee - Headed for a Historic Upset Victory

I always said early on - before Huckabee's meteoric rise in the polls - that Huckabee will win and it will be historic (see here and here). If things pan out the way it seems to look right now, my prediction will be 100% accurate. You see, Mike Huckabee has something that other candidates only dream of - authenticity, an ability to connect with the average person, and an incredible ability to articulate his message. It is astounding to me that Huckabee's best line of defense against all this pile-on attacking, is simply getting his face on TV and talking. He is THAT good. He gains converts every time he gets heard.
I am telling you that Huckabee is a revolutionary candidate. Ed Rollins (who is an AWESOME addition to the campaign) said Huckabee is like Reagan the way he connects with people. He's right, but also it's more than just connecting, it's his message as well! He has ideas that are common sense to many people. Middle of the road, conservative, common sense ideas. That is what Americans are looking for.
Mike Huckabee's poll numbers and support grow every day or remain steady, despite attacks from all sides. It's astounding he hasn't sunk yet because of the unfair bias all around, but like I said, he is a revolutionary candidate with unbelievable staying power. People don't just support Huckabee, they are inspired and deeply committed to him.
An Article by the UK Telegraph says, "Mike Huckabee has stormed to frontrunner status in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, placing the former Baptist pastor in sight of one of the biggest upsets in US political history..."
Huckabee has confounded the critics and upset the Republican establishment who so desperately wanted to choose our candidate for us. Hopefully, it will be the "outsiders" like us who actually choose who we want to represent us.
The Telegraph article concludes with some very astute analysis:
"...But he is no longer being written off as the promising outsider. "Huckabee is on a roll, he has gotten an enormous amount of publicity and he is doing very well with conservatives, who appear to have found a candidate," said the pollster John Zogby."

Freedom Lives Day - Join the Fund!
On December 27, 2007, there will be a major online fundraising event going on for Gov. Huckabee. Dubbed "Freedom Lives Day," put forward by the Huckabee grassroots group Hucksarmy.com.
The concept is 10,000 pledges of $100 to reach $1 Million, but you can pledge any amount you are able to give, whether it's $1 or $1,000. As long as the goal is met, then the amounts pledged are of less significance.
Please head over to the website and make your pledge now, and be a part of this great day. Let's commit to give at least something, so as to make this day the biggest online fundraising day for Huckabee yet. We can all make a difference.

FACT CHECK: Romney attacks Huckabee again with false and misleading claims.
From FactCheck.org, a website that zeros in on political claims, checks out Mitt Romney's latest attacks on Huckabee' crime record, and comes to the conclusion that they are "false and misleading."
Their summary:
Romney launched another negative ad in Iowa this week, where the Republican presidential candidate has been battling the new front-runner, Huckabee. This time, Romney attacks Huckabee's record on methamphetamine laws and the clemencies he granted as governor of Arkansas. We found that:Check out the entire article over at FactCheck.org. And be sure to tell someone about this, either through blog, email, word of mouth, etc. The truth will set us free!
- The ad says Romney "got tough on drugs like meth" while governor of Massachusetts, but the legislation he supported never passed, and his state's laws are much weaker than Arkansas'. Convicted meth dealers face both minimum and maximum prison terms in Arkansas that are four times longer than those in Massachusetts.
- The ad misrepresents news articles, implying that they supported Romney's actions as governor when that's not what the news organizations said. One article, in fact, gave critical views of Romney's refusal to issue a pardon.

An Open Letter to the Conservative Establishment
To whom it may concern,
It is very obvious that Mike Huckabee in not the establishment candidate. He has been hammered consistently by those in talk radio, such as Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, etc. He is also a target of FOX News, the Drudge Report, and other "angry conservatives" like Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin. Also, almost every mainstream "conservative" website has a clear dislike for Huckabee. When you add all this to an already hostile liberal media, the force of negativity towards Huckabee is overwhelming, yet he remains steady in the polls.
Huckabee did not even get endorsed by Pat Robertson or Richard Land; and other religious people in the "establishment" are trying to tear him down as well. Catholic League President Bill Donahue for example, has talked down on Huckabee.
You exploit the Christian base when it's to your advantage, and destroy them when they are not in line with your establishment agenda. But Huckabee is confounding the elites, just as Ronald Reagan did. Why is that? Because he connects with people. He is smart, honest, genuine, and isn't afraid to actually speak like a Christian man should speak. Political correctness is destroying our culture, so when Huckabee says Christmas is about celebrating Christ's birth in a TV ad, people actually raise objections. He goes against what is politically correct. People see his honesty and the fact that he isn't going to let political correctness run over him or his faith.
Usually, people don't speak so negatively about someone who is mostly on their side. But the dirt being flung against Huckabee is truly sad. Compare that to Huckabee's campaign, which has been incredibly positive as far as political campaigns go.
Considering how biased the Republican establishment has been against Huck, if he doesn't get the nomination, I must sincerely think about unregistering as a Republican and then pray to God that a third party is formed. Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani are unacceptable candidates, and that should have been known before the establishment blessed them as the leaders.
I joined the Republican party out of moral conviction. The establishment has potentially turned this upside down, and instead seems to be motivated by political opportunism and power. I am sick of being used for political gain, and then pushed away when we raise up a candidate who closely identifies with us.
I write this letter with a strong hope that you will give Mike Huckabee a fair chance and stop trashing him at every turn. I don't expect this, however, because I know how the game works. But I am just amazed at how all the candidates get positive reviews from the establishment except Huckabee.
Sincerely,
A concerned Republican

Atheist Attacks Mike Huckabee

Christopher Hitchens is a rabid, anti-Christian atheist. If you believe in God and the Bible, Hitchens more than likely hates you, just as he hates Mike Huckabee.
You see, the atheist's worst nightmare is to have a God-fearing man in the white house.
Hitchens writes:
I will on no account vote for a smirking hick like Mike Huckabee, who is an unusually stupid primate but who does not have the elementary intelligence to recognize the fact that this is what he is. My right to say and believe that is already guaranteed to me by the First Amendment. And the right of Huckabee to win the election and fill the White House with morons like himself is unaffected by my expression of an opinion.Christians cannot stand for garbage like this. The reason Christianity is becoming less prominent in this country is because atheists are attacking and Christians aren't standing up for what they believe.
Mike Huckabee actually stands up for what he believes. He isn't ashamed to be a Christian. He is honest. He is smart. And he actually welcomes friendly debate. Christopher Hitchens is a man of hatred who would like America to become the same as his British homeland, where people are becoming more and more hostile to Christianity.
Where is the sanity here. We have the Republican establishment attacking Huckabee, like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, etc. etc., and we also have the rabid left democrats slandering him as well. What this tells me is that Huckabee terrifies both sides because he actually wants to do something they can't stand: unite the American people rather than divide.
Please help fight this crusade against Mike Huckabee. Please donate here at Huckabee's official page.
Don't stand for the Hatred.
Support Mike Huckabee.

Huckabee + Floating Cross? DRUDGE and ROMNEY Reach New Lows

Matt Drudge of the Drudge Report, who is allied with the Romney Campaign, has a bizarre and absolutely odd insinuation about the new Huckabee advertisement. I had to laugh at the desperation of Mitt Romney through Matt Drudge.
There is a "cross" that is behind Huckabee as he is speaking. It's obviously a book case. Obviously. But the Drudge insinuation seems to be that something wrong is going on here. I don't think the cross was intentional, but even if it was, so what? Christmas is about Christ. Christ is about the Cross. Everywhere you look there are lines that intersect though, and I don't think was the plan.
I am speechless at this. Whatever Drudge is doing, he needs realize that people are not as dumb as he wants them to be.
What's even more flooring is that the media actually picks up on this guys tabloid material. What is wrong with the media in our country?
A lot.

Huckabee Haters Help Huckabee

The more you attack Huck... the stronger we get. It's sort of like attacking a strong military. The more fire that comes, the more dedicated we are to getting Huckabee into the white house. You rally the troops for Huck when you attack.
I want to actually personally thank Matt Drudge of the Drudge Report (who is in Mitt Romney's back pocket) for raising Mike Huckabee's profile in the news to enormous heights. Because honestly, I just don't think Huckabee's profile was high enough to actually win the nomination before all this attention that Drudge lavished upon him. He may have won Iowa, but his rise is growing fast and furious across the nation now. It's like he's forcing Huck into the media spotlight every day, insuring that people will hear his name and research him; and voila! Another Huck supporter. :)
Even things like the misleading headline "Huckabee slams Bush White House" simply solidifies the fact that this guy can stand up in a general election. It shows that he is not beholden to a certain group of people, not even the Bush White House. He is actually FOR the people of the entire nation (Something Rush Limbaugh can't stand -- his living is made by harsh divisiveness).
All of the angry establishment Republicans who utterly used the social conservatives in the past are now showing their fangs and biting. Huckabee has a slogan that "He's a conservative but he's not mad about it." The angry conservatives like Ann "Clueless" Coulter, Michelle Malkin, Sean Hannity, Glen Beck, Laura Ingrahm, Rush Limbaugh etc., etc. These people make their living by tearing people apart. Mike Huckabee is rising because people are simply disgusted with that type of thing.
Huckabee represents optimism and hope for all people. Not just an angry segment of the Republican party. Yes, his values are solidly conservative and Republican, but he will not bow to the angry, vitriolic wing of the party.

Ed Rollins of Reagan Fame Joins Huckabee Campaign
Ed Rollins is famous for his role in Ronald Reagan's 49-state landslide victory in the 1980's. He has since had mixed success in running different campaigns. But no one can question this guy's political toughness -- he's been through the hard knocks of rumbling with the democratic opponents.
He now joins Mike Huckabee's campaign as National Chairman
This is big for Huckabee. Very important. Because so many have questioned the strength of his campaign's infrastructure, Ed Rollins will be a vital component to strengthen that infrastructure.
Also, to all of the angry establishment Republicans out there who don't like Huckabee, Rollins should be at least a small step towards calming them down. Let's hope so.

Who's Behind Huckabee Drudge Leak?
AOL News blog has a good post about the possible (likely) Drudge Romney connection.
Regarding the supposed leak from the DNC that they want Huckabee for an "easy kill." the post says:
Of course. If you are truly hoping and wishing and praying for a Huckabee win, the last person you would want to know is Matt Drudge, as that just makes it more likely that Huck won't get the nomination. Could Romney be behind it? Or Giuliani? Absolutely. There's no doubt to me that Drudge is being fed by Romney's camp... Giuliani may factor in somewhere too.

Matt Drudge's Crusade Against Mike Huckabee
Matt Drudge of the Drudge Report has been on nothing short of an absolute crusade against Huckabee lately. His desperate slander of Huckabee lately has been inspiring Huckabee supporters to get out there and combat the false allegations and dirt from years ago with the truth.
Drudge is rallying the Huckabee troops. If you want to help expose the Drudge and Romney connection please take a look at this New York Observer article and get it out there:
Matt Drudge's Crusade Against Mike Huckabee
Please digg this article. Please blog about the article and email it around.
The reason it is so important is because for some reason, the mainstream media love to take Drudge's gossip stories and run with them. The MSM by and large are bowing to everything Drudge puts out there, which is a shame. Especially since Drudge is in Romney's back pocket.
For example, the AOL News Blog had a posting from David Knowles that was immediately picked up from a Drudge banner headline about Huckabee saying something about taking the nation back for Christ. Mr. Knowles claimed the story was from over the week-end, because that's the way Drudge made it seem, in his usual deceptive way of framing things. I posted the first comment on the blog letting Mr. Knowles know that this was a very OLD story, and that he shouldn't let Drudge continue to misguide his reporting. Knowles changed the article right away, but it shows you how duped the media has become by the likes of the Drudge Report.
That's why it's important to get this story out there. Don't let the Drudge smear machine carry out its agenda without revealing what's going on with him and the Romney camp.

Desperate Matt Rhoades (Romney's communication strategist) Hits Drudge Panic Button Again & Again
From GreenMountainPolitics:
This is almost comical.
And while we marvel at the power of Matt Drudge - and the incredible soapbox that he has built - we do understand that Drudge has a dog in the GOP's '08 Primary fight.
Which means that you take his pro-Romney headlines with a big grain of salt.
Which means that Mr. Drudge doesn't have the media juice that he once did.
Which means that Drudge isn't driving MSM political stories the way he once was (which is where his real power always lay).
Which lessens the Florida resident's impact on Iowa/New Hampshire/South Carolina voters.
A lot.
We're just saying.
h/t Jon Martin for the screen grab.

(UPDATED) Turns out the DNC doesn't have any idea what Team RomDrudge is talking about.
Shocking.

2005: Romney says Huckabee would make a great president.
in 2005, while at the Arkansas' Governor's Mansion for a meeting about health-care, Mitt Romney had the following to say about Mike Huckabee if he were to run for President:
"...we need to make sure that we have a strong person who can take the baton from President Bush, and Gov. Huckabee is certainly one of those individuals. He'd make a fine president.”Is this another flip-flop by Mitt Romney? It seems like whichever way the wind blows, his position blows right along with it.
More from the article...
The Arkansas News Bureau reported in August 2005 that Romney said Huckabee would have the support of many Massachusetts Republicans if the Arkansan were to run for president in 2008.Read the whole article from the Times Record by clicking here.
While at the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion for a meeting about health care, Romney demurred when asked whether a presidential race was in his future but had nice things to say about his host.
“Who knows what the future will hold?” Romney said in 2005. “Most likely, we’ll all stay as governors or find other offices, but we need to make sure that we have a strong person who can take the baton from President Bush, and Gov. Huckabee is certainly one of those individuals. He'd make a fine president.”

Huckabee's Meteoric Rise - Not an Iowa-only Phenomenon
Huckabee Soars Into GOP's Top Tier:
Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee's meteoric rise in the polls is not, it turns out, an Iowa-only phenomenon. According to a new CBS News/New York Times poll, the former Arkansas governor is running neck-and-neck with former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani in the race for the support of GOP primary voters nationwide, and all the momentum is on Huckabee's side.Keep praying. Keep Donating. Keep spreading the word. Mike Huckabee in 2008!
Huckabee was supported by 21 percent in the poll, up from a mere 4 percent in October, thanks largely to a swell in support from Christian conservatives. He trails Giuliani by only 1 percentage point - a statistically insignificant margin. While Huckabee's support has more than quintupled in the past two months, Giuliani has seen his fall by 7 percent.

WHEN ROMNEY ATTACKS - Romney to go Negative on Huckabee
His shot at the Republican presidential nomination in jeopardy, Mitt Romney will run a TV ad starting Tuesday against Iowa front-runner Mike Huckabee while weighing how much negative campaigning he can add to the methodical plan he's followed all year. Romney's campaign said Monday a "contrast ad" on illegal immigration is planned for Iowa on Tuesday. Aides said the ad identifies the former Arkansas governor and characterized it as a reaction to Huckabee's own TV commercial in which he touts his immigration proposal. Such elevated rhetoric _ including the Romney campaign's mass e-mailing Monday of an anti-Huckabee Web column _ reflects a growing sense of urgency at Romney headquarters, where the game plan all year has been predicated on bowling over rivals with victories in lead-voting Iowa and New Hampshire.
Gossip headline maker and tabloid artist Matt Drudge has also been leveling what amounts to nuclear attacks on Mike Huckabee. But why? It turns out that Romney's communication strategist Matt Roades is famously close to Drudge, according to an article on TownHall.com.
Click here to read the revealing townhall article.
Mitt Romney's campaign has been assaulting the Huckabee campaign by using their online cohorts like Drudge and other big media outlets.
In the article, Senior aid to former Presidential candidate Sam Brownback says:
"They've got a scorched-earth strategy, and it's not surprising they are now going after Huckabee," Wasinger said.
"They roll out these surrogates to attack other candidates ... They are particularly sensitive to anyone who questions Mitt's conversion,"
Mitt Romney doesn't have any core. His flip-flopping tells us that -- but his recent attacks are pathetic and low.
Contrast Romney's negativism with Mike Huckabee's latest statement on all these attacks. "Let me be clear about our response: we aren't going negative. I've learned that people attack usually for one of two reasons: either out of fear or a survival instinct. Neither of which I believe are qualities of a strong leader."
UPDATE: McCain scolds Romney for going negative, especially during the Christmas season. Here is the statement from Iowa chairman Dave Roederer denouncing the attack on Huckabee:
News that Mitt Romney will launch a new attack ad tomorrow is another move by a campaign that continues to insult Iowa voters. Iowa families should not be subjected to this negative style of campaigning, especially during the holiday season.
Governor Romney has flip-flopped on several major issues that voters care about. It's particularly amazing that Governor Romney would attack anyone on immigration when he's on his third position. John McCain has run an honorable campaign that all Iowans can be proud of. I call on Governor Romney to drop his plans for this negative attack and follow John McCain's lead. Candidates need to raise the level of the debate, not lower it.
God bless John McCain. He is a man of honor. Possibly even a VP pick for Huckabee.

Mike Huckabee: 22%
Mitt Romney: 16%
Huckabee's smokin' hot momentum seems to be contagious.
This latest poll also shows that the relentless nasty attacks against Huckabee are not working. Huckabee seems impervious to false and negative reports. People seem to notice that Huckabee stays positive -- a refreshing thing in politics.
Donate at MikeHuckabee.com now and keep the momentum smokin!
UPDATE: Huckabee is on the heels of Giuliani in a new national CBS/New York Times poll as well, taken on 12/9.
Giuliani 22%
Huckabee 21%
Also, Huckabee has a big lead in a new South Carolina Poll over Romney, 30% to 19%. Woo!

Huckabee: People attacking out of fear or survival instinct
Mike Huckabee released a statement on his blog about why his rivals and their media cohorts are leveling such desperate attacks against him lately. As usual, Huckabee nails the reason right on its head!
Huckabee Says:
Rival campaigns are leveling attack after attack against us. Some of these attacks are coming from campaigns directly and others are made indirectly through their allies in the media. Let me be clear about our response: we aren't going negative. I've learned that people attack usually for one of two reasons: either out of fear or a survival instinct. Neither of which I believe are qualities of a strong leader. My focus is the same as it always has been, discussing issues with voters and listening to their concerns.

Huckabee Responds to 16 year old AIDS comments
Desperate diggers are trying to unearth Huckabee "dirt" from the ancient of days. This is getting really pathetic, and tabloid artist Matt Drudge is the lead archaeologist here.
The good news is that people are way smarter than the media think -- and this kind of "gotcha" smear machine is what they hate the most. The latest target of the media's attacks comes from a 16 year old statement Huckabee wrote about AIDS. Huckabee talked about the possibility of isolation (not necessarily quarantining) with regard to those who carried the AIDS virus. At the time, AIDS was far less researched than it is now, and any conclusions drawn were not at all far-reached to the people at large.Huckabee has issued a great statement on this story, which you can read by clicking here. But here is probably the most interesting and relevant part:
...At the time, there was widespread concern over modes of transmission and the possibility of epidemic. In the absence of conclusive data, my focus was on efforts to limit the exposure of the virus, following traditional medical practices developed from our public health experience and medical science in dealing with tuberculosis and other infectious diseases.
We now know that the virus that causes AIDS is spread differently, with a lower level of contact than with TB. But looking back almost 20 years, my concern was the uncertain risk to the general population – if we got it wrong, many people would die needlessly. My concern was safety first, political correctness last.
My administration will be the first to have an overarching strategy for dealing with HIV and AIDS here in the United States, with a partnership between the public and private sectors that will provide necessary financing and a realistic path toward our goals. We must prevent new infections and provide more accessible care. We must do everything possible to transform the promise of a vaccine and a cure into reality....

Huckabee First Place in Michigan!
A new poll out in Michigan shows that Mike Huckabee has come out of no where to take the lead in Michigan.
HERE ARE THE NUMBERS:
MIKE HUCKABEE: 21%
MITT ROMNEY: 20%
RUDY GIULIANIL 19%
Huckabee's zoom into first place is consistent with a national surge accross the whole country. As Huckabee continues to surge, there are people desperately trying to dig up dirt on Huckabee's past.
however, it seems like the attacks and dirt just roll off Huckabee, as if no one cares. Perhaps Huckabee's policy of no attacks is making the attacks on Huckabee look very nasty.
One thing is for sure: The Huckabee train doesn't seem to have any brakes!

Huckabee Ahead by Over 20% in Iowa, plus BIG gains in Nevada
In the latest Newsweek poll out of Iowa, Mike Huckabee has more than double the support than that of Mitt Romney.
MIKE HUCKABEE: 39%
MITT ROMNEY: 17%
In Nevada, a brand new ARG poll shows that Huckabee is doing some crazy surging over out west as well. Huckabee is trailing Romney by a paltry 6%.
ROMNEY: 29%
HUCKABEE: 23%
GIULIANI: 17%
Just over a month ago, Huckabee was in single digits in Nevada. Now that people are paying attention to who the candidates actually are rather than what their name is, Huckabee is seeing a meteoric rise to the top; not only in Iowa, but accross the board in all states.

Mike Huckabee on Health Care (Great Video)
This was at the PBS All American Presidential Forums, hosted by Tavis Smiley. This was a forum for the candidates to address issues that many in the black community care about. Mike Huckabee was the only front runner to attend this event. Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson and John McCain all refused to attend for one reason or another. With that said, listen to Mike Huckabee as he articulately discusses health care below:

Mormon Mitt Romney - JFK Speech? Yeah Right!
Mitt Romney's speech on religion was hyped up as being sort of similar to the speech John F. Kennedy gave about his Catholicism.
Well I just watched the JFK speech, and let me tell you, Mormon Mitt did not make a JFK speech. JFK gave his speech in front of a crowded room of evangelicals. Afterward, JFK was grilled with tough questions on the particulars of his Catholic faith. One after another, he fielded questions about the Vatican and Pope, as well as statements made from the Catholic Encyclopedia.
Mitt Romney by comparison gave his speech at the George H.W. Bush Library, barely mentioned Mormonism in his speech at all, and fielded no questions whatsoever about his faith.
You can call Mormon Mitt's vague speech "great" if you'd like, but don't compare it to JFK's! Mitt Romney is way too politically cautious to do something in that vein.

Mitt Romney Mormon Speech
I do not define my candidacy by my religion. A person should not be elected because of his faith nor should he be rejected because of his faith. This line seems to be a dig at people who choose to support Mike Huckabee because of his Christian beliefs.
Let me tell you something Mitt, I choose to support Mike Huckabee because his faith influences his decision making. His faith informs his position on abortion, marriage, equality, compassion, and other areas of deep moral concern to people.
The truth is Mitt, faith DOES matter. Are you saying that we don't have a right to reject a candidate if they are a Wiccan or a Satanist? Does Mitt understand that we would have severely different values than them BECAUSE OF our religion?
For Mitt Romney to act like his faith is simply irrelevant is disingenuous, and is consistent with his severe political pandering of what he thinks should be said, rather than what is really true.
We don't need you to lecture us Mitt. We have deep convictions about religion, and we know that faith is an integral part of who a candidate is, and would also influence how they act in office.
But Romney's Mormonism is only one reason why we don't support him. The other reasons are his severe flip-flopping and political pandering to people depending on which office he is running for. In Liberal Massachusetts, he was a pro-abortion, pro-gay, anti-Reagan liberal. Now that he is running for a conservative primary, he flip flopped on almost ALL of these issues.
Mitt, you have problems bigger than your Mormonism, but we don't need you telling us that faith doesn't matter in who we elect.

ABC's Dishonest Reporting on Wayne Dumond and Huckabee
ABC did a story on Wayne Dumond. A rapist that was paroled in Arkansas at the time Huckabee was governor.
ABC should be ashamed of their dishonest reporting. This is the kind of disinformation that Americans are sick of. Misleading titles on the screen like "Huckabee's pardon" are simply unbelievable. Huckabee did not pardon Wayne Dumond. His only official action was to deny clemency. ABC needs to issue an apology and a correction for their grievous, blatant "error."
Huck simply said that Dumond's prison record was exemplary, and on that basis, his parole should be considered. Remember, there's no way Huckabee or the parole board could have known that Dumond would go on to murder. But on the basis of Dumond's prison record, consideration of parole was a normal course of action.
But Governors have no role in paroling. The parole board makes that decision. And the parole board in Arkansas at that time were all people appointed by a democrat governor, NOT Huckabee. Please read Huckabee's response to this dishonest ABC report by clicking here.
To watch Mike Huckabee explain the situation with Wolf Blitzer from CNN, watch the video below:
A comment to the official Huckabee blog post linked above, sheds some more informative light on this matter.
Belanger, Anthony 12/05/2007 04:02 PM After doing a little digging into this sad story I discovered that a lot of the same people that are very critical of the MSM and the HuffPo blog are willing to buy the most damning version to undermine Mikes campaign. I looked up Crime Library on the internet and a large banner promoting Mitt Romney precedes the article about Wayne Dumont. It appears the DNA at the rape scene did not match Mr. Dumonts DNA. He was awaiting trial when he was bruttaly castrated and found near death by his own son. He was found guilty for the rape and was sent to jail. He served 11 years before his questionable release was granted. I would hope nobody would sell their soul to paint Mike as soft on crime to give this story the legs it appears to have. It pains me to find Mitts campaign ad on the website at Crime Library when this story is front and center. I would hope our candidates would be above this tabloid type of politics. I have not given up my support of Mike and hope everyone would let the true facts fall where they may. No one could have thought this Viet-Nam veteran and father of 5 children would have gone on to do these horrible crimes. Go to the Google search bar and type in Wayne Dumont and look for Crime Library.

Huck-A-Mania is Running Wild - First Place Overall Nationally!
The latest Rasmussen tracking poll puts Huckabee in FIRST PLACE over Rudy Giuliani. Incredible.
Here are the Numbers:
1. Mike Huckabee - 20%
2. Rudy Giuliani - 17%
3. John McCain - 13%
4. Mitt Romney - 13%
5. Fred Thompson - 10%
6. Ron Paul - 7%
MORE GOOD NEWS:
Another Rasmussen poll in Arkansas shows that Huckabee would beat Hillary in that state, by a margin of 48% to 42%. Hillary was formerly the first lady of Arkansas when Bill Clinton was Governor of that state. This is great news for Huckabee, because many have tried to question his support in his own state. It looks like Huckabee would win comfortably.
IN FLORIDA -- In Florida, Huckabee continues his surge, with this new poll showing him at 18%
The media, especially FOX, has tried to ignore Huckabee's surge as insignificant. But how much longer can they be in denial? He'll be our nominee by the time they catch up!

Bill O'Reilly - Patriot or Pinhead?
by Scotty, from the Scotty Scoop:
As I watched Bill O'Reilly on his little TV program, he was talking about Mike Huckabee (see video here). He went on to say how Pat Robertson once ran for President and how even he was on top in the Iowa Polls. He also said that the media is pumpin' him up just to later tear him down.
But Pat Robertson and Mike Huckabee are two completely different people, and to compare the two is simply ludicrous.
1. Pat Robertson is man without conviction.
2. Pat Robertson never governed a state for 10 and a half years.
Mike Huckabee has strong values and convictions and HAS governed a state, cut taxes, balanced a budget, signed legislation and accomplished all kinds of good things while Governor of Arkansas. Pat never did any of this.
Bill OReilly is just upset because his opinion and views are literally irrelevant in this upcoming election.
O'Reilly claimed that Huckabee is rising BECAUSE of the media, but the reality is that the media doesn't have and really never wanted Huckabee in the spotlight because they have an agenda against what Huckabee stands for. The media has him in the spotlight because the American People have FORCED them to spotlight Him!
The media have for a long time tried to ignore Huckabee as a second-tier, moneyless, irrelevant candidate. Bill O'Reilly is also severely guilty of this. But as the reality sets in, and Huckabee's numbers grow at an incredible rate, the media no longer have a choice - they HAVE to cover the Huckabee boom. So as usual, O'Reilly simply gets it wrong.
If you're of age to vote and not yet registered.. please get registered to vote A.S.A.P!
And early next year when it's time to go to the polls, go to the polls for Mike Huckabee!!! The best man to beat Hillary and the best man for the JOB!

Huckabee is Number 1 - Ties Giuliani for NATIONAL Lead!
The Huckaboom continues today, with a new Rasmussen poll out showing Huckabee is tied for the number one slot with Rudy Giuliani:
Giuliani’s support has fallen to 18% and four other candidates are within six percentage points of the lead. Mike Huckabee is enjoying an amazing surge and now shares the top spot with Giuliani at 18%.You can read the daily Rasmussen Reports article by clicking here.
The Huckabee surge shows no signs of slowing down. Many in the media want to believe Huckabee is peaking and then will drop - but us Huck-a-nuts know better. Ever since Huckabee has been in the race, his numbers and support rise the more he is exposed. So this boom of media attention will simply see Huckabee soar to the Republican nomination!

Wow! Amazing Mike Huckabee Interview on CBS Early Show
I have been following, supporting and listening to Mike Huckabee for well over 7 months now, and I am still continually impressed every time I listen to him in interviews, speeches and debates. This "Huckaboom" as Matt Drudge puts it, is no surprise to me at all. He is a very impressive and gifted candidate in many respects.
My amazement continued when I viewed a video of Huck on the CBS Early Show. In it, Huck displays his usual wit, knowledge, intelligence, articulateness, and quick-minded replies that I have come to know very well. Please view this video below by pressing play.

Why calling Huckabee a liberal actually helps his candidacy
When I was first researching the candidates to see who I was going to support, my first and biggest fear about Huckabee's viability was that he was going to be labeled a right-wing extremist, primarily because of his history as a minister. For example, he had been quoted on "Meet the Press" as saying we need to take the nation back to Christ. "Wow, this man is bold" I thought. Maybe even too conservative to ever get the nomination. But I am slowly starting to realize that Huckabee's not a typical divisive politician.
So what Huckabee needed was something to pull him in the other direction a little bit, something to make him not seem as doggedly right-wing. And as a conservative Republican who loves Huckabee, I want to personally thank the following people for helping him become a more viable candidate, by attacking him as a liberal: Fred Thompson, Mitt Romney, Matt Drudge, George Will, Ann Coulter, Mike Gallagher, Robert Novak.
This whole false claim that Huckabee is "fiscally liberal" is actually helping us to dig out of this hole that I was wary of in the beginning!
I also have to thank Pat Robertson for not endorsing Mike Huckabee, because his endorsement would have been a huge stumbling block to the Huckabee campaign. No one is more disliked by the secular mainstream than Pat Robertson. His endorsement of Huckabee would have just been a huge monkey on Huck's back. Also, Pat Robertson has so much baggage of negative religiousity, that if it were to be added to Huckabee's image, it would make for a disastrous situation. So again, thank you Pat!
Many people wonder about Huck's electability in the general election. But make no mistake about it, Mike Huckabee is can easily contend with Hillary Clinton. A Zogby poll even shows that Huckabee would beat Hillary by the widest margin of any of the Republican candidates!
In Huckabee's Defense Huckabee has been attacked primarily on taxes and immigration by those who are supporting other candidates. Two issues which he has a good record on -- but you know what can happen when people are desperate to tear someone down; they will make a mountain out of a mole hill. First of all, Huckabee's position on the border is simple: Seal the border immediately, and stop the bleeding! He states that the people are angry at a government who let this happen. He is NOT at all allowing of illegal immigration. That should be clear from the outset. Huckabee's scholarship program in Arkanasas merely allowed children of illegal immigrants who attended Arkansas schools their whole life and achieved academic excellence, as well as being drug and alcohol free, to apply for college scholarships, and with the provision that they be applying for U.S. citizenship as well. Huckabee does not believe in punishing a child for the crime of their parent. Rather than being tax-takers, they become tax-payers through citizenship. What's better? Staying in the country illegally taking taxes from Arkansas tax payers, or actually paying taxes and contributing to that state's economy? Without an immediate mass deportation of all the tens of millions of illegals (which no rational person thinks will happen anytime soon) Huckabee did the most logical and best thing for both the state and the child of the illegal immigrant (who gets pinned as illegal only because their parents were screw ups.) Huckabee also cut taxes over 90 times, and supported the Bush tax-cuts, and continues to support tax cuts, as well as pledges to not raise taxes as President. This man is no liberal in terms of fiscal matters or immigration Just take a look at his website at MikeHuckabee.com to see all his positions on the issues.
