Tony Blair is one of the most intelligent, articulate men that I have ever heard from. His bold and brave stance on the Iraq war didn't win him much favor in Britain, but it has won him many admirers here in the U.S.
Watch Blar on the Daily show in the two parts below. He is set to take up a role in teaching "faith and globalization" at Yale University.

Well said. His brave stance did not win him many friends in our liberal intelligentsia press, who then spread the message. Nor amongst the refuseniks such as George Galloway and "principled" anti-war groups.
I sense that Blair is already being re-assessed here in Britain, especially since Brown has changed nothing, or very little since replacing him.
I hadn't been a Labour supporter, though I always admired Blair. But I looked at him with fresh eyes in the summer of 2006 when the Little People, opponents within his party, effectively ousted him under he pretext of his wrong decision on Iraq.
There were in fact other reasons, as we can see - mainly Gordon Brown's personal leadership ambitions. Now we can also see Brown should have shelved those ambitions years ago. It was little or nothing to do with Iraq. Any responsible PM would have done as Blair did, the Tories probably sooner! Britain is not and never has been a fair-weather friend.
To me, Tony Blair is probably THE best leader we have had in my country since the second world war.
Great to see he is appreciated in the USA.
